Body Oils & Balms
Meet Flùr
We make small-batch oils and balms from botanicals grown and sourced with real care - plants chosen for what they actually do for dry, thirsty skin.
No fillers, no synthetics, no ingredient you'd need a chemistry degree to identify.
Just carefully made skincare, rooted in our spray-free property in Northland, New Zealand, where we've been tending the land without chemicals for over twenty years.
If your skin has been craving something simpler - something that works because of what's in it - you're in the right place.
With every purchase, 30c goes to our wild bee and pollinator sanctuary fund.

Welcome to Flùr – where scent, story, and sanctuary meet.
I’m Kathryn, founder of Flùr Oils and Balms. Flùr began in 2020, shortly after I moved into a cottage nestled in Northland, surrounded by a wild, spray-free flower garden that seemed to hum with possibility. As a curious researcher (and a bit of a botanical enthusiast), I started exploring the healing properties of the plants growing right outside my door. What I discovered was remarkable: many of these backyard botanicals were not only beautiful, but also deeply beneficial for skin.
My first creations were balms and oils, and let’s just say the lavender and kawakawa balm earned its stripes early—when a hornet sting vanished into a pain-free memory moments after applying it, I knew I was onto something good.
I’d also read that up to 65% of what we put on our skin can end up in our bloodstream. That fact stuck with me. I wanted skincare that was as natural as possible—no mystery ingredients, just pure plant oils doing what they do best.
While tending the garden, I noticed how vital the bees and butterflies were to its health. That’s when the idea took root: I decided to set aside a portion of every Flùr sale to one day create a wild bee and pollinator sanctuary. It’s a dream still in bloom.
In 2023, after my mother - Josephine Woods, a teacher, poet, and storyteller - passed away, I wanted to honour her legacy. So, I added poetry to the Flùr experience. Each product now comes with a swing tag that doubles as a bookmark, printed with a poem and a gentle ritual. It’s a small literary keepsake, a tribute to her love of words, and a rather lovely companion to our oils.
Thank you for being here. I hope you enjoy our creations as much as I’ve loved making them.
Welcome to Flùr.
